Term 6: How do things change over time?

Our enquiry this term is ‘How do things change over time?' We will learn about timelines, dinosaurs, fossils, extinction, how things grow and change, discussing how we have changed over our year in Reception, looking ahead to the future and the season of summer! We have lots of exciting things going on including a visit from teach- rex who will be bringing animatronic dinosaurs, sports day, class assemblies, visiting their new class and teacher and so much more!

In Phonics we will be learning phase 4 learning, which consists of adjacent consonants and new CEW. We will continue to take books home to read 3-5 times a week. We will be focusing on 'Billy's Bucket' where we will be talking about story sequences and exploring characters, settings and plots. We will be writing simple words and sentences in Literacy through writing dinosaur descriptions, postcards and fact files.

In Mathematics we will be exploring grouping and sharing, odd and even numbers, position and direction, looking at maps and deepening our understanding of other concepts in preparation for year 1.
