Wider Curriculum

You may know that the Relationship, Sex and Health Education (RSE) guidance changed this September 2026.  The government documents are here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/relationships-education-relationships-and-sex-education-rse-and-health-education

You have the right to see any materials we will be using from the Jigsaw scheme of work.  We are unable to share these publicly on our website.  However, please see your class teacher who will be able to provide you with a personalised access code to log in and look at Parent/Carer resources.  PSHE themes can be found on our overviews below.

WIDER CURRICULUM

Our wider curriculum areas are led by the staff across the school. We plan for progression within a year and across the year groups. History, Art, DT and Geography are taught through our enquiries.  In addition, children in years N-2 enjoy Forest School curriculum activities.   We have designed our own scheme of work based on Pie Corbett’s ‘Talk for Writing’ in English.

We use a scheme of work for the following subjects: Maths, Science, RE, PSHE, Music, Spanish, P.E and Computing.

Please find below our curriculum progression maps for each subject in the wider curriculum. Please see our separate pages for Science, Maths, Reading and Writing.

Where a scheme is used, some of the below maps may include coverage of the EYFS.  Otherwise, detailed information on our Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (Nursery and Reception) can be found on a separate page.

Last year we introduced Knowledge Organisers from year 1-6.  Art, DT and RE have a yearly organiser, and Science, History, Geography and Computing have termly organisers.  These are designed to give a summary of the content that will be taught, and are stuck into the front of children's books for them to refer to during a unit of work.  All KO's can be downloaded from our class pages.
